Can you get federal pell grant with only one parent?

Is it possible to receive the federal pell grant if I only have one parent on my fafsa application? My mom passed away a few years ago. I am 21 and currently do not have a job. My Dad makes less than $40,000 a year. Can you get federal pell grant with only one parent?
Yes, you can. But you and your family has to be considered financially needy. 40K a year isn't always needy depending on your family situation. Be prepared for loans only, and if you happen to qualify for the Pell, be pleasantly surprised and grateful!

Good luck. Can you get federal pell grant with only one parent?
';What are the eligibility requirements?

To be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and most other types of federal student aid, you must:

Have financial need.

Have a high school diploma, a GED, or have the ability to benefit from the program or training offered.

Be enrolled to obtain a degree.

Be a US citizen, permanent resident or other eligible classification of non-citizen (see Financial Aid Eligibility for Non-Citizens).

Have a valid Social Security number.

Make Satisfactory Academic Progress for Federal Student Aid Programs.

Register with Selective Service, if you are a male between the ages of 18 and 25.

Certify by signing a FAFSA that you will use any federal student aid funds awarded to you solely for educational purposes.

Certify by signing a FAFSA that you are not in default of any federal student loan and that you do not owe a repayment of any federal student aid grant.

Your eligibility for federal student aid could be suspended if you were convicted under federal or state law of the sale or possession of illegal drugs while you were a student receiving federal student aid. To find out how, or if, this law affects your eligibility for federal aid, complete the Drug Conviction Worksheet.';

You can get a pell grant as long as you meet all those above requirements. The requirements doesn't say anything about one parent, so you are most likely eligible.
yes, you are eligible, but may not get too much. The school may also offer you loans which you should consider.
I only have one parent and get it. You should get a lot of aid as long as your grades are good given your situation.
YES OF COURSE
