Can you cross the Canadian border when you are a minor without a parent?

Me and my friends want to go to Canada (clifton hills) after prom..

Can we get through without parents???

and if we can, do we all need a passport or just id,etc? Can you cross the Canadian border when you are a minor without a parent?
First of all,any person under 18 years of age is considered a minor so you and your friends must have a notarized consent form signed by both parents. You also need a letter that should include addresses and telephone numbers of where the parents can be reached (in case of emergency) Secondly,if you are a U.S. citizen and DRIVE across the border to Canada and attempt to re-enter the U.S. you do not need a passport before June 1st 2009.Make sure that you have a birth certificate and either a drivers license or a photo ID from your school. If you cross the border on or after June 1st, you will need a valid passport no matter how you enter the country, by car or boat. You also keep in mind that you need a valid passport if you're flyingCan you cross the Canadian border when you are a minor without a parent?
After prom? If the prom happens after June 1, then you need a passport. If the prom happens before June 1, then you need photo ID, proof of citizenship (birh certificate) and a notarized letter of permission from both of your parents.
You will need a passport and a letter of permission from both of your parents authorizing you to travel out of the country, it may need to be notarized as well.
