Can a non-biological parent termniate the parental rights to an adoptive child after a divorce?

Let's say there is a remarriage and one of the new spouses has a child, and the non-biological parent does not. So, the non-biological parent decides to adopt that child as his own with the consent of the biological parent of course. However, later on the remarried couple gets a divorce, can the non-biological father termiate his parental rights to the adoptive child or no??

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Can a non-biological parent termniate the parental rights to an adoptive child after a divorce?
I don't see why not. It's just a legal procedure. All he has to do is go to court or maybe even just see a lawyer and say he wants to cut his ties to the child.......The thing is.....and this is just my opinion......why would he even adopt the child if he knew there was a possibility of divorce? Adoption is something that you're not supposed to take lightly. When you adopt a child, you're basically committing yourself to that child and you're supposed to love them like they're your own...... But, on the other hand, there are parents out there who just don't want to be parents. Even biological parents. So they cut ties with their children. So I don't see why this guy would have any problems terminating his parental rights. I've seen it done with biological children a few times. So this really shouldn't be any different. Hope this helps and sorry about rambling!
