show your mom how responsible you will be and that you will be taking care of your cat. lots of times parents dont want animals cause they end up doing all the work. go to your mom with a plan of how you are going to take care of your cat.


Let her know where you will keep the cats food, water and litter box, where the kitty will sleep. Have a plan of when you will feed the cat, how you will keep fresh water available for the cat, where the litter box will be, how often and when you are going to clean the litter box. You should have a plan for brushing the cat also and you will need to play with it as well. If you get a cat from the pound, you will be saving a life and it will have its shots and be fixed. Read about taking care of a cat and if you think you can handle the work then offer to do it

Do some research about cats, and let your mom know that you are aware of exactly what is involved in being a responsible cat owner. other than that, it really depends on what your mom's reasons for not getting a cat are.
First consider your age. How busy is your lifestyle? Do you have the time and commitment to care for a kitten? Do some research online about owning a new kitten. You have to nurture them, play with them, feed them, and the bigger picture involves finances. Your mom will have to pay for it's shots and provide vet care on an annual basis. Your mom may think that it is too much to afford or that you wont take care of it and she will wound up doing so. Do your homework and look into it and think long and hard about it before jumping in. Well some parents dont let children have pets because they think that they will not take full responsibility for the cat/kitten. so what you need to do is to tell your mom that you will take full reaponsibility for the cat/kitten. tell her that you will try to excell in school, do all your homework, chores, and do anything that your mom tells you to do. hope it works out.
