How does adding monomers as branches to a parent chain affect the properties of a polymer?

Polymer would gain more molecular weight

1)increase in boiling /melting point

2) increase in viscosity-less fluid

3)Denser

4) depending on how u add chains it can be made elastic also

increase in elasticityHow does adding monomers as branches to a parent chain affect the properties of a polymer?
umm..well the only thihng i can really think of is that a longer chain of monomers will cause the polymer to have a higher boiling/melting point.

im not sure about the 'parent chain' thingy i dont get that ?
