What is the one most important thing that a parent can teach their children?

The most important thing you can teach your child is that they can come to you with any problem or situation that may occur good or bad. Let them know that you love them and that you will do everything in your power to keep them out of harms way. Just let them know that they don't have to go elsewhere or keep their situation in the dark. Because you will always love and be there for them.What is the one most important thing that a parent can teach their children?

I hope the one thing I taught my children was not to judge people who look, live or believe different than we do. We all live on the some planet. It would be a very boring place if we were all the same and believed the same things. That is what makes us who we are. I teach do not judge someone by how they dress. what they believe as a Higher Being no matter what they call their God/dess. It gives them a feeling of wholeness. Who they live with if they make them happy that is great. No one should tell another what to believe or how to live as long as they don't hurt themselves or others.
To listen.
Belief. Believe in whatever they believe they can do and be.
to control the temper. so many people have problwms becase they cant control their tempers/rage and than a day later it wasnt worth it. that would be the best. teach them that tommarow is another day...
compassion
I hope that with all that I have tried to teach my three from planning on going to college to using good manners and being compassionate with other people, that the single most important thing they have learned from me is to believe in Jesus and to be a witness to others and to put thier hope and trust in God. If I leave this earth knowing that they have learned this, I will die a very happy mom knowing I have done my job.
Happiness is the most important goal that they should have. Don't worry about what others think of what you are doing...as long as they are happy, that's all that matters.





Don't let them know this until they are a little older though because if you spring it on them too early...before they are intelligent enough to know better...it may just sneak up and bite you on the ***.
same things they teach you in preschool. Be Safe. Be Clean. Be Kind.
yes as in sri lankan children,but im not child now anymore..they are the most valuable people in our life.


what ever they said is correct and what ever they teach is correct.


the most important thing that they can teach for their children is how to live life in a good maner while following every good things that parent followed.

To be themselves and not be ';fake'; or just like the crowd ,just because that is what society thinks they should be. And to not judge people or be cruel to them. I am very happy that my children are their own person and they are very sweet,well mannered and don't judge people by their looks.
try to be a human and act like a human
