How can I push trans therapy with my parent?

Three days ago I came out to my mother, I tried not to dump to much at one time. The over all theme of it was that I have gender issues and its something I want to start counseling for. She is a doctor so she has a some information on it all ready, but nothing involving the gender issues has come up. No word on the search for a psych.

Whats going on? How could I make it go faster? Is my mom all right? How can I push trans therapy with my parent?
Just sit down and discuss it with her again she may just be a little shocked and trying to deal with this her self. How can I push trans therapy with my parent?
Your Mom is correct, the first step is therapy:

It is important that you see a GENDER therapist and not a general hack therapist. Most general therapists don't have a clue when it comes to gender issues and they may try diagnosing you as bi-polar, with boderline personality disorder or something else; anything to avoid the real issue: Gender.

Next: Have more information at the ready for Mom. This site is a good site that's just packed with information:

She can also join a mailing list for parents at:

And there's a relatively new book out for parents:

Hope this helps

edit: From another question I can see you are a 14 year old transsexual girl (Alex is unisex). A couple online support groups for you:
