Over 20 and out of School for 2 years, as a parent am I legally responsible to pay if he goes to collage now?

I just want to know if legally I'm responsible to pay any costs if my son wants to go to collage now. He has been out of school for two years and lives on his own and has been accepted to a collage, my ex says that I need to pay part of his living expence while he goes to school. He lives in Ontario if this matters at all and I live in Alberta which may have different laws. Anyone with any answers ?Over 20 and out of School for 2 years, as a parent am I legally responsible to pay if he goes to collage now?
The laws may be different in Canada (I'm in the US), but I can't see how you can be responsible for part of his living expenses. Actually, even if he was 18, I don't think you're legally obligated. Morally, maybe, but legally no.

Is there a legal aid center or something like that you can call for free advice?Over 20 and out of School for 2 years, as a parent am I legally responsible to pay if he goes to collage now?
You are not legally responsible. He is grown and if he can't pay for his own college, he needs to get a job or try go through the school financial aid office if the school has one.

You paid for his stuff for 18 years. It's his turn to be responsible.

Kids need to realize that the day they turn 18 is not the day they need to start saving. It needs to start waaay before that. That way, they know what they can and cannot do before it's to late.
No way. Many parents choose to but its your perogative. Personally, i think he should pay it himself, or at least part of it. At 20, he should really be taking control of his own life in every way (including college.) You could offer to loan him the money maybe? And set up a repayment plan. Or give him a gift of part of the money (not all of it)
