Do you need a parent with you to watch a rated R movie?

I was wondering today i wanted to see a rated R movie (Saw VI), But i dont want my mom to come and watch it cause she dont like these movies, can she just buy the tickets for me and i go in to watch the movie without her? Please tell me, best answer will be awarded to someone that can explain why.Do you need a parent with you to watch a rated R movie?
No. You don't need your parent to watch a R rated movie. Why don't you ask an older relative like a brother, sister or cousin, etc. It doesn't need to be your parent. Just someone over 21 to be with you.Do you need a parent with you to watch a rated R movie?
If you are under 17, the rule says you must see the film with a parent. The theaters don't have to follow the rules though.

If you're under 17, you can't see an R rated movie without an adult.


Well at least here in New York you can't.


You have to have your ID with you in order to even purchase a ticket.

If your under 17 you need someone OVER 17 to come. If you could find a friend to come that's over 17.





And I heard the 'Saw' movies aren't that good just telling my honest opinion.

Hey i live n ohio and my local theather lets u c R rated movies as long as someone 18 or over buys the ticket and sum time they dont idea.. well i look older than 16.. but it just depends on ur theater
